La ley del monte (1976)

To seal their oath of love, a boy and a girl carve their names on a penca. The girl's parents despise the boy's father for having married a mestiza, but at the same time covet the land that he owns. After an incident between the parents, they challenge each other to death, and the boy's father is murdered by treachery. Later, the boy has to go live with a priest. As the years go by, the boy becomes a man and, eager to fight for justice, he joins the revolutionary ranks. But one day, when he returns to the same place where that tree was, he meets the girl, now a woman, and they renew their love. However, in a short time he has to leave her again because he has to return with the revolution, and finally, he is disappointed when he returns from a campaign to find his ex-girlfriend, already married to another man.
