The two main characters face a number of intense scenes where they are expecting to be shot at and/or looking for enemy fighters. The scenes of war violence will obviously be frightening to some viewers.
One of the main characters begins to hallucinate about his wife complaining about his joining the army as he walks through the desert. There are flashbacks to explosions and shooting though no one is shown being injured or dying.
The two main characters are constantly at odds with one and other throughout the film due to their very different ideologies about the war and their mission. It results in multiple heated discussions and a physical confrontation.
On multiple occasions the two main characters choose to leave the bodies of other U.S. soldiers behind which may offend some viewers.
Two Marines show up at the house of one of the main characters to inform his wife and daughter of his death. The wife breaks down in tears and the daughter embraces her.
