The Danish Girl (2015)

Einar and Gerda are married, they live in Denmark, it is 1926 and they are both artists. Until one day Einar poses for his wife in a dress and something revealing happens. After struggling with his own contradictions, he finally dares to be Lili, the first trans woman to undergo genital reassignment surgery. Moving and poignant, this story inspired by the lives of Danish painter Lili Elbe is undoubtedly Eddie Redmayne's best performance of his career.
