North Face (2008)

A man and a woman give a parting kiss. She is in her nightgown which is sheer enough to see through to the color and shape of her nipples. However, due to brief nature and otherwise emotional focus of the seen, many viewers may not notice this fact.

(Note: The violence and gore in this movie is caused by natural disaster or hardship circumstances. Although some of it may be moderately graphic, none of it is depicted for gratuity and all of it appears rather realistic and mild in depiction.)

-a man's arms are scuffed and mixed with some scabbing blood and dirt. -a man's head is injured by a falling rock. blood is shown coming down his face. in a later scene the wound is examined and a bloody gash is shown to be in his head for a moment.

-a man's leg is injured through rock climbing and a large bloody gash is briefly shown

-a man is incidentially strangled by a sudden mishap of tension on a climbing rope and is strangled. he is shown choking up blood and then accidentally bashing his head against a rock wall after which he immediately dies.

-a long dead and frozen body is unburied beneath the ice and thrown down the mountainside. his corpse looks stiff and his face is frozen purple and black.

-a man is shown frozen to death with blood and dirt mixed on his face and a bit of spittle frozen down from his mouth.

-a man holds up his nearly frozen arm and cries that he can no longer feel any circulation

-a person decides to kill himself out of sacrifice by cutting the safety climbing rope after which his body and his comrades body is shown falling down the side of the mountain.

There is little profanity, particularly given the film's theme. 2 'shits', one 'son of a bitch'.

-A few scenes of wine consumption at fancy dinner parties, one of which after some people are seen singing festively by a piano and are obviously some what inebriated.

-One woman apologizes to another character explaining that she was slightly "tipsy" the other night.

-There are close up shots of cigarettes and smoking in the opening scene and end scene. Smoking is depicted through out in a casual and daily manner.

The second half of this film has intense and graphic depictions of natural peril in extreme conditions including impending and imminent avalanches, blizzards, steep elevations, icescapes and impassible passages. There aer physical and psychological hardships associated with these conditions and challenging decisions that must be made individually and as a group about the extreme temperatures, limited access to food, sleep deprivation and other survival concerns.
