In 1876 Strindberg is penniless and once again his play "Master Olof" is rejected by the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm. Debt collectors take his furniture and Strindberg is on the verge of committing suicide. He is explosive and live in love and rebellion, a modern man with a need to be something unique. He seeks his destiny. But how far can we compromise on dreams and ideals without losing ones soul?
