Numerous security camera images show the aftermath of people being slaughtered by Necromorphs, with blood and gore covering the walls, corpses everywhere and severed limbs.

Various images of mutilated corpses can be seen on a computer, which shows severed heads, limbs and disembowelment.

Numerous scenes with blood and gore; a man is seen throwing up a mouthful of blood after being impaled; a woman slices her throat with a laser tool; a man is stabbed through the head; a woman is sliced from the head down, completely in half. A man is stabbed in the eye with a syringe; a man is stabbed through the torso and then repeatedly stabbed all over. Corpses are stabbed in the head and reanimated as hideous creatures; many people are killed viciously; blood is as common as any other constant in the film. A security team uses laser cutters to dismember Necromorphs. Overall, very gory.

The alien artifact known as the Marker creates insanity and cause humans to develop dementia and become paranoid, delusional and violent, which results in them killing people or themselves. This can disturbing for some.

The mindless, zombie-like Necromorphs are reanimated corpses that've been mutilated from the inside out, they're very frightening in appearence and behavior. All scenes with the Necromorphs are very intense and intended to frighten.

The ending is depressing and emotional.
