Ronnie Barnhardt lives with his alcoholic mother. He's chief security guard at Forest Ridge Mall, where he's in love with Brandi, a cosmetic sales clerk, and gets a free coffee each day from Nell, a cheery clerk in the food court. A flasher haunts the mall's parking lot, and at night, thefts occur. Ronnie is intent on catching the criminals but has no investigative skills, is delusional about his abilities, and makes mad accusations. His bête noire is Detective Harrison, the city cop sent to investigate. Ronnie thinks he could be an officer, thinks he stands a chance with Brandi, and slowly loses his self control. Will reality set in? What about redemption?

At the end, a man punches a man, getting blood on the camera.

A man with a nightstick beats several men who try to attack him: he twists a man's arm and breaks it (we a gory shot of an open fracture) and kicks a man in the head (we see blood in a man's mouth and another man spits blood).

A man tasers another man in the chest (he falls to the ground and twitches uncontrollably). A man holds a gun to another man's head and makes a sexually suggestive remark. A man hits another man in the head twice with a small table (the man falls to the floor). A man punches a man in the face.

Three men shoot guns at a target range and they shoot at a picture of a man, blowing out the eyes, mouth and crotch. We see a line drawing of a pistol and a severed penis.

Dennis knocks Ronnie unconscious with a chair. Ronnie is later shown holding an ice pack on his head.

Two men attack several young men with punches and kicks: one is struck on the back of the head with a skateboard (the board breaks) and one is sprayed in the eyes with something. A man yells at a man and slams his head into the door of a hot oven repeatedly and then threatens to kill him.

A man is shot in the back and falls to the floor (blood spurts on a man and a woman standing nearby, and we see a bloody bullet wound and blood smeared on the floor near him).

Police officers with nightsticks surround a man with a flashlight, they charge him, he strikes several with the flashlight knocking them unconscious, several officers grab the man and hold him on the ground while striking and kicking him (he has a bloody face), and another man jumps on them; the first man gets up and runs toward a man who strikes him in the head with a sign and they fight with punches and kicks (they both have bloody faces and heads and we see one man with bruises and cuts).

A man in a mall parking lot exposes himself to several women and makes sexually aggressive remarks. A young woman shoplifts in a mall store in a couple of scenes.

A man yells at a woman and breaks a glass display case (people around them are frightened). A man yells at a man and is abusive. Two men argue and insult each other using obscene terms in a couple of scenes. A man yells at a woman in several scenes and is abusive (he is her boss).

A woman is afraid while walking through a mall parking lot at night. A man shoves people out of the way and off a balance beam on a police obstacle course. A woman who has been drinking alcohol falls out of her chair and onto the floor where she lies sleeping.

A woman vomits after drinking too much (we see goo). A man kisses a woman after she vomits. We see vomit on a pillow next to a woman's mouth. A woman talks about soiling herself after drinking too much.

R violence type: blood and gore.

Ronnie fights with police and is shown bloodied and bruised. He fights a man using his fists and fights several men off with a baton. Ronnie and a coworker chase and punch teens and break a skateboard over another teen's head.
