Aapa Akka (2009)

The film traces the journey of a young girl, Reshma and her search for her personal God. Although a Muslim, she is fascinated by the true story of a 12th century Hindu poetess saint Akka Mahadevi. Akka, intoxicated with her love for Lord Shiva had roamed unclothed singing verses in total abandon on the banks of the River Krishna where Reshma now lives with her little brother Noor. When a terrible tragedy befalls Reshma, she seeks solace from the river much like Akka.
