The Swimming Lesson (2006)

It is 1959 and in the town of Port Augusta, teenager Mae and her best friend Louise lead an unpromising and promiscuous life with their boyfriends. When two Hollywood stars arrive in town to feature in a new motion picture, Mae's small life is changed forever. Seduced by the charms of actor Robert Mitchum and Hollywood's promise of celebrity, Mae dreams of making it big but her short-lived pursuit of fame leads to the teenage girl's realization that circumstances may hinder her chances.
