A Single Man (2009)

This debut feature by fashion designer Tom Ford tells the story of George Falconer, a grieving college professor living in Los Angeles in the 1960s, who experiences an existential crisis following the death of his life partner, Jim. Through encounters with various people, George confronts his own isolation, struggles with social expectations, and seeks for meaning in a world that often seems disconnected. This visually appealing film features a sophisticated performance by Colin Firth.
