Pawtucket Rising (2008)

Pawtucket Rising is the unlikely story of the revitalization of the city of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Pawtucket, RI, once a burgeoning mill town is the site of Slater Mill the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution. The city took a hard hit when the nation plummeted into the great depression, and has never fully recovered. Recently, a new Mayor James E. Doyle saw the opportunity of The Arts, as small business. The artists were being forced out of the spaces in Providence during its renaissance. The city of Pawtucket seized on the opportunity, and not only opened its arms to The Arts, it rolled out the red carpet and invited them in wholeheartedly. Now the city is experiencing its greatest boom in decades, and revitalizing mill and industrial space that had formerly sat vacant and decaying.
