Tony Wendice's Mistake (1981)

Husband plans to remove his rich wife, who he believes is likely to leave him for another man. When the plan hits a snag, the wife stabs to death his hired killer in self-defense, he, taking advantage of her trust in him, still manages to make it look for the police as if she were guilty of premeditated murder.
