A movie on three cranky brothers (Jahar, Asit and Kali) and their wives (Renuka, Bharati and Anubha), all extremely possessive with the daughter of the family, Keya (Sulata). Of the three couples whose daughter she was, none outside the family (not even servants) knew. They cater to all her wishes, including the choice of life partner. Keya is bossy but not spoiled and is in love with her ex-tutor, Premadri (Biswajit). The brothers sponsor Premadri for his study abroad, though with a written agreement, that after return he would marry Keya (to avoid marrying some one of fairer skin there) or else return the sponsorship money with interest. While studying Premadri starts visiting nightclubs and then after a scandal (he swears of his innocence) is thrown out. He is back in India and his notoriety too has traveled to Keya's home. Meanwhilein his absence (and no communications , he had stopped writing letters to her for quite some time) she had become friendly with a doctor, Dr Kundu (Tarun) who had treated her during an accident. After coming back, Premadri didn't do anything to redeem himself to Keya or his three-parent set (Tri-Dhara- three streams). Who would Keya chose in the end is what is in the movie (and also who are her biological parents). The movie is watchable (or may be more) due to the three-cranky-parents set itself. Along with those Tarun, Ajit (as Componder) and Sulata had been impressive. Character of Bishwajit, compounded by his lack of emoting capability, had been a drag. But not enough to negate the merits.
