The importance of the public and personal trajectory of the indgenous leader Mário Juruna alone would be enough justify the production of the movie Juruna The spirit of the Forest, but what especially justifies it is the understanding it bring about the social phenomenon of garanteeing that ethnic minorities are not excluded from national society in Brazil. The novie cover the periods between his births in the village of S Marcos, in Mato Grosso, until the time he becames a judge of the Bertrand Russel Court in the Netherlands, with remarkable pasage througt the Brazilian Paliament(1983/87).
