Lighten Up

John Green, an Anglo Indian Australian man, his overbearing mother Bronwyn and his little sister Livvy live in the Western Sydney suburb of Greystanes. John has dreams of being an actor but must first find a way through the racial and social dislocation that permeates his world. Although John is clearly a man of colour - he has always thought of himself as a typical Australian and is constantly confused when people see otherwise. Bronwyn's dream is for John to settle down with an nice, blonde, fair and lovely Australian girl and this is thrown off centre when he falls in love with a beautiful successful aboriginal woman called Sandy.
