Jasper Dänert has been married to Katharina, a divorce lawyer, for 18 years. The marriage is childless, the partners have remained strangers to each other despite their long life together, and people treat each other relatively soberly. During this time, Katharina and the family friend, Christian Färber, who is also Jasper's doctor, became closer. Jasper's approaching death causes the walls that have built up between Katharina and him over the years to crumble. However, Katharina does not know what moves Jasper. And she doesn't know anything about the young police officer Larissa Brandow, with whom he meets regularly. Larissa is supposed to help Jasper solve the crime that happened a long time ago. As a girl, she had discovered the boy's body. Reluctantly at first, Larissa finally agrees to face the horrors of her childhood. The investigations in the Brandenburg province are particularly difficult. A lot of time has passed, witnesses have died, memories have faded. But Larissa also wants to clear up the case that leads her, among other things, into the milieu of hustlers. When Jasper's body no longer obeys him, he has to give up his research. He's going back to Berlin. Larissa goes on alone and finds what she is looking for.
