Throughout the United States there is a growing subculture you've probably never heard of: moped gangs. Since 1997, the Moped Army, which now boasts over 400 permanent members, has been 'swarming and destroying' at rallies across the country. The organization has been compared to a social network and is loosely held together by an online forum, but Ari Sneider, from Brooklyn's Mission 23 gang, predicts this subculture is about to gain mainstream traction - he just acquired New York's first distributor's license to sell new mopeds.
