PITA: Based on a True Story (2011)

Maria is a teenage Greek girl, who is seeking to find her roots while dealing with the rejection of being abandoned by her father after migrating to another country as a very young little girl. On her sixteenth birthday she hears the news of her grandfather's death, which stirs up within her the courage to overcome her fears, rejection and pain to seek the long lost relationship with her father. She has many obstacles to overcome; language, a foreign country, yet the greatest obstacle of them all is convincing the only source she has of finding him also happens to be the very same person who has done everything possible to make her forget he ever existed.
