The Phoney Civilization (1974)

A rich merchant of the late 19th century cannot cope with his frivolous wife and vain daughter. They dream of Europe and civilization. For them, civilization is about clothes, ointments, lipsticks, and subtle manners : curtsies, hand-kissing, refined behavior. The comedy satirizes the epigonian behavior of uneducated people.
