Berlin, NH was once the proud 'City that trees built,' but after years of stagnation in the paper industry the once-famous paper mill had closed permanently. The mill was the largest source of income and hundreds lost their jobs. Many left the town for good and when businesses shut down and after arsonists terrorized the city, it became a region floundering for survival. Now, the proud people of Berlin - and those who visit - only see the harsh reality and depression. But underneath all that, is a beautiful city full of colorful culture. 'Berlin - A Tour of the North Country' set out to display the wonder that lies just minutes north of Mt Washington.
