Featured in museums and galleries, the video art installation Beleza #1 (Beauty #1) explores beauty and its values in the 21st century. Through the eyes of a working class girl sharing an apartment in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Beleza #1 is a critical and visceral reflection upon the aesthetic standards imposed by modern society in the pursuit of life's goals, and the way in which meeting these standards becomes an obligation rather than a choice.
