Some alcoholic beverages are seen, mostly wine and champagne. A party in Ecuador for tourists also features an open bar with booze.

This film is set in 1990's Ecuador, and many viewers have taken offence to the way Ecuador and its people are portrayed. The scenes of poverty, dirty prisons and piggish men may bother/upset some viewers.

The extremely harsh, cruel treatment towards the main character may bother some viewers.

There are multiple intense scenes, including an arrest, beatings, an attempted rape, a heated news interview, and a scene of nuns smuggling a girl into prison for a visit.
