Beyond the Horizon (2011)

'Beyond The Horizon' is a short documentary leading us through the journey of one musician's life riddled by countless hardships and addiction. The lead singer of alternative rock band, 'Band Candy', J.J. Doyle, tells the story of how he the finds love of his life only to find that sometimes love ends in unexpected tragedy. Weaving between his personal inner struggles and his music, J.J. must overcome the challenges of his fathers death, fiance's suicide and his own addiction to substances by finding a release through his music. Scored by J.J. himself, and spoken in his own words, the musical composition breathes a life into the film that connects us to J.J.'s triumph over tragedy.
