It is almost impossible to go to Bahrain when you're a journalist. This small Persian Gulf monarchy does not issue visas to the press. Cross the border illegally as Syria is not an option, Bahrain is an island. Nevertheless, since a year, every day, women and men go to demonstrate in the street, risking their lives, demanding more democracy and freedom. During one month the Bahraini helped me to stay hidden, hosting me, from house to house, to be able to testify of their terrible and oppressed lives.
