Discovery (2005)

Visiting 19 cities in South and Central America, the Youth Orchestra of the Americas embarked on a mission to play in premiere concert halls while also undertaking an ambitious outreach program into marginalized areas where live classical music would never usually be programmed. With the participation and help of world renowned musicians Gustavo Dudamel, Carlos Miguel Prieto, Paquito DeRivera and Gabriela Montero, the YOA was able to shine a light on the appreciation there is for classical music across many cultures, economic classes and a region as a whole.
