Kiruna - Rymdvägen (2013)

Director and artist Liselotte Wajstedt makes a nostalgic return to her beloved hometown Kiruna. This mining town in the north of Sweden needs to be moved since the mining activities below have caused great hollows beneath the city, and the cracks on the surface are spreading alarmingly. Facing the prospect of hometown relocation, the director tries to recover her childhood memories before the houses and playgrounds are torn down. Kiruna - Space Road is an unconventional mixture of documentary footage, animated sequences and personal reflection.
