Little Marie Kerstner disappears during a nursery school field day in the woods, leaving no trace behind. While searching the area, Inspector Oliver von Bodenstein and his partner Pia Kirchhoff come across the body of a suicide victim: Senior Prosecutor Hardenbach, who used his hunting rifle to kill himself out in the woods. Could Marie's disappearance be connected to his death?
