Karen and Michael Holland are finally able to rejoice in the success of the horrifying possession hoax they started months ago. With the help of an ex-priest, Nick Rosa, the couple mined sympathy from the public and saved their family from financial ruin. However, when the media circus dies down, the possession becomes real and Karen falls under attack by a dark presence. Unexplainable sounds and harrowing encounters escalate until Karen is brutally attacked by the invisible force. Under media pressure, Michael calls back Nick Rosa, their false accomplice. But Karen's horror has deeper roots then even Nick can unearth. As the terror grows, Karen is left to face her demons alone... or so it seems.
