Anand Rao, an aged govt. employee resembling Gandhi is forced to play the role of Gandhi in an upcoming serial. Though it brings him fame and money, his mental peace and morality is hindered. He is torn between Gandhian principles he used to follow innocently and vested interests of others who want to take advantage of his situation.
