House of VHS (2016)

Brief appearances of male and female chests and bottoms in 'old' film clips; one male bottom briefly in main cast. Mild references to sexuality, and some talk of non-human fucking. .

1970's-style gore and violence. Eyeballs bulging, characters on fire, being strangled, dissolved by beams of light. A character is violently beaten offscreen.

Fuck, shit and variants used in moderation throughout.

Although several empty beer bottles are seen repeatedly, and the males talk about a week of drinking, surprisingly little is actually consumed. A character rolls a cannabis cigarette but does not smoke it.

I wish. The film contains allusions to violence, and is supposed to be a horror / thriller, but lacks any real suspense or intensity. Not even the presence of aliens, vampires, zombies or nudists can make this film scary. What tension there could be is so badly handled as to make it almost comedic.
