Welcome back to the Pilates-4- series! Pilates-4-Pregnancy is for the expectant mother, who is not experiencing any complications with her pregnancy. The exercises contained in this DVD are based on the teachings of Joseph H. Pilates, though they have been modified to facilitate ease of movement for the pregnant participant. Pilates is a form of mind-body exercise that focuses on core strength and stability, while lengthening and strengthening the muscles. The breath pattern helps to create smooth movement, and ultimately the practitioner should feel more relaxed as a result of improving posture. The matwork exercises do not require much space, so the individual should be able to perform them in the comfort of their own home. As with any exercise program, it is always recommended to confer with a personal physician before starting a new exercise plan.
