Toki no kagayaki (1995)

A female high school student is majoring in nursing. She is an intern. She is sent to a hospital in the spring where she coincidentally meets a previous class-mate. He is hospitalized following a motorcycle accident. She used to have a crush on him at junior high school. The man holds a record in track and field, but is under care for osteosarcoma. The cancer has moved to his breast and is terminal. They love one another, but there is no future and he pushes her away. She persists.
