Under a Layer of Snow (2009)

A black and white photo of a boy behind a reindeer. It is the start of this meandering adventure through time and space. A journey via Ingmar Bergman's photographer Gunnar Fischer, a retired sea captain and the son of an English anthropologist. A journey that ended far up in the Swedish mountains. Where things were not as English schoolchildren were told in 1946. Where Sara Labbe gave birth to ten children, of whom only five survived.
