All of the Above (2014)

ALL OF THE ABOVE: SINGLE, CLERGY, MOTHER, is an hour- long documentary about four single women's decision to forge a family while balancing their careers as Jewish clergy. The film highlights the stories of Rabbi Lisa Gelber, Rabbi Julie Greenberg, Rabbi Felicia Sol, and cantorial student, musician, and Pharaoh's Daughter founder Basya Schechter -who struggle to fulfill the needs of their soul, their community, and their hearts by becoming single parents by choice. As Regina Jonas, the first female rabbi, said, "God has bestowed on each one of us special skills and vocations without stopping to ask after our gender." But each one of these women-capable, strong, filled with faith, and single-is also filled with a need to parent.
