Through archive footage, rarely seen images and interviews with José Lewgoy's fellow actors, directors, friends and family members, director Cláudio Kahns recreates the life of this great Brazilian actor: his studies in the Yale Drama Dep., his work in both the "Chanchada" and the "Cinema Novo" (Brazilian film movements, his soap-opera roles, his time working in France with pre-French New Wave auteurs, his late role in Herzog's "Fitzcarroldo", etc...
