Sweetgrass Don't Die

Beau leaves California for his hometown in Savannah, Georgia, to bury his father after 28 years of absence. He reconnects with Mantee, an old Gullah Geechee fisherman who Beau had forgotten after all those years. Struggling with his past, Beau re-kindles a childhood flame with Leigh, who owns the town's dive bar and is hit with the harsh reality that his life is meaningless. It's up to Beau to confront a tragedy from long ago and understand the clues to the secret of life. With help from his old friend Mantee, Beau is even more connected to his past and on a path to peace, only to discover that Mantee is just a spirit put there to help him find his way home.
