Fight Knight (2018)

FIGHT KNIGHT explores the medieval armed combat sub-culture through the journey of Brand Lancaster - a suburban Dad with an armory in San Diego. When the USA fails to field a team for the upcoming Battle of the Nations, Brand seizes the opportunity to take on the world's best with his rag-tag team. Among them is Jason Jr - a 99 pound high school junior trying to transform his body in order to sword-fight alongside his Dad, and then join the Marines. We also meet Brand's nemesis, Sergey Ukolov. Sergey is a fearsome Russian fighter who has won the 1v1 championship four times, and is only vaguely aware of Brand's existence. And training half a world away in the Australian outback is an unassuming, hard-working guy with a high pain threshold named Paul Smith. Paul is captaining the Australian team and wants to avenge last year's loss to the USA in team competition. When the characters converge for The Battle of the Nations, it is on the tiny 13th century fortified island of Trogir, off the Croatian coast. The spectacular location turns into a pop-up medieval town, and when competition gets underway the mood quickly goes from high excitement to shock, exhaustion and gritty determination. Blood is spilt, injuries suffered, and despair creeps in before Brand musters his team for their final do-or-die fight.
