Shaha Dharmini (1987)

'Sahadharmini' is the story of the travails of the Bawlia tribe living near Sunderbans. Harshit Pan is the rich landlord there who with the help of his aide Manik Shikari tortures the tribal people. They send the poor villagers to face the dangers of the forest for personal gain and also torture the women of the tribe. Harshit and Manik set their eyes on Sona, a beautiful Bawlia girl. They force her lover Bhikon to go to the forest. Daniel, a foreigner plans the welfare of the local people but is unable to execute it because of Harshit and Manik. Manik drowns Bhikon's boat and it is believed that he is dead. Manik kidnaps Sona. But Harshit shoots him. Bhikon comes back alive and confronts Harshit. Manik realizes his mistake and kills Harshit. The death of Harshit and Manik sets the villagers free from their tyranny.
