Undercover Christian (2018)

Joe Gregorich is an American and lay Catholic researcher who goes to Europe in search of historical documents during the Cold War right after WWII when the Iron Curtain descended over Russian dominated Eastern Europe. Joe's quest is to find evidence to support canonization of fellow Slovene, Bishop Baraga, who ministered to the Chippewa Indians in Upper Michigan in the 1830's. Joe's mission turns into a spy novel. While his daughter works for the CIA in Germany, Yugoslavian secret police arrest Joe on a train entering Yugoslavia for being an alleged spy. Joe has to find evidence to support Bishop Baraga's canonization while being pursued by Yugoslavian government agents.
