Adapted from a poem written by Heather Ross in college about seizures she had in middle school, 'A Jolting Morning' gives the audience the true personal experience of having a seizure and living with epilepsy from a first person point of view. Imagine waking up, knowing what's happened to you because it's happened countless times before since you were 10 years old, but this time you can't walk or use your voice. It's also 1999 before everyone had cell phones, everyone had landlines, and social media didn't quite exist yet. How do you get help when you know you need it in case you have more seizures?
