Maria travels abroad following her dream of becoming a model, on arriving she finds out that she has been a victim of a sex trafficking network that forces her to work as prostitutes in the Cabaret Tango Bar. Once she is there, its owner Ruben warns her that she will not be able to leave the Tango Bar until she pays her debts. Confined, Maria is obliged to prostitute herself. The Tango Bar, as a prison, has its own rules and Maria learns them, surviving among the violence, greed and lust of a fauna of unscrupulous characters. In the Tango Bar, Maria meets other prostitutes who have lived their own stories of sufferings, frustrations and contradictions, linked to the other characters who work and frequent the local. In the daily practice of engaging in sex for payment, Maria loses all hope until she meets Edmundo, a tango singer who was once almost famous, but has come to less, because his addition to alcohol and personal tragedies. Together, Maria and Edmundo begin a passionate relationship that, night by night, furtively and dodging obstacles, gives them back the courage to live and conduct them to project the escape, fearful of being discovered by Ruben and his bodyguard Jairo.
