Le terre desolate (2016)

What would happen if people could no longer recognise the true natural essence of their surroundings? Jim lives in an urban agglomeration consisting of industrial and geometrical buildings. The only nature that exists is strongly artificial: everyone owns a green and luxuriant bonsai, which they take care of obsessively. In fact tv channels broadcast programs strictly regarding care for the plants, all of which have to be green and strong. After his plant becomes irrevocably yellow Jim has no choice but to escape from the city to the Desolated Lands. Through a solitary journey into the nature, the protagonist will try every means possible to save his plant, but to do so he must first learn to contact his lost natural essence, an essence that re-emerges from the past to extend a helping hand and bring him to a rediscovered awareness.
