Apathetic Epidemic (2020)

The story of "Apathetic Epidemic" features a large ensemble cast of interesting characters whose paths all converge at the end. Mostly the story follows the main protagonist, a simple pizza delivery man in a large American city who gets shot while in a particularly bad neighborhood and fired for running late due to his injuries. We come to know this protagonist only as "Dick" for the incorrectly labeled nametag his new employer forces him to wear. While running late to his new job one morning and having forgotten to charge his cell phone, "Dick" discovers a dead body inexplicably lying on a public urban sidewalk, appearing to have been there for some time. As "Dick" tries and repeatedly fails to find help from passing pedestrians it begins to become clear that there is something very wrong in this city that is not easy to see at first glance. An epidemic of apathy has taken hold of this city and "Dick" soon finds himself trying to escape as the situation spirals out of control.
