Why does death exist? Is it really necessary? Wwhy is it always so surprising and overwhelming? These are the questions that Mia asks herself after her last beloved hamster passed away. But she has an idea, why not ask death itself? But the reaper - as personified death in the film - sees things differently. He let's her experience what it would mean to be immortal with all the consequences everybody had to live with if death would not be a part of our lives.
