Only in it for the News is a television pilot created by Dakota Pruemer for his Master's creative thesis at Eastern Illinois University. The show documents New News, a local news show that Spencer Industries, a tech conglomerate, bought. Hosted by Dawn Wotcher with assistance from correspondents Sam Middle and Jeffery Newman, New News incorporates social media posts from locals and creates the news live based on this information. Only in it for the News is a comedic satire on television news and satirical news shows.
