Viktor Magness has written and produced over 40 television shows, five television commercials and radio productions, and was joined by television celebrities on June 29, 1990, as he celebrated six years of writing, producing and hosting "This is LAPD", a police show showing the inner workings of the LAPD's activities for the citizens of the City of L.A. He joined the LAPD on April 3, 1983 as a recruit officer, completed the mandatory six months Police Academy Training and was appointed basic certificate "police officer" and was transferred to LAPD Harbor Division, where he worked as a patrol officer, completed his probation training and was awarded his post certificate; and was transferred to LAPD's Pacific Division and there created, in excess of his regular police assignments, the television show "This is LAPD", a program informing the public of the various inter-workings of the LAPD; and received numerous letters of commendations from the citizens and high ratings from his supervisors, not only for public relations, but for hard police street work, calmness and command presence in volatile situations were a few of his strengths. Magness received commendations for the production of his outstanding police dedication and efforts to completion of projects of four television screenplays for Public Service Announcements by Mayor Tom Bradley's office, LAPD's Chief Gate, City General Manager John J. Driscoll and Chief Rathburn. He received a Certificate of Appreciation for outstanding contribution in enlightenment on crime from Councilwoman for the 6th District Ruth Galanter and the Westchester Chamber of Commerce. Viktor also devoted much of his own time and energy to the writing and production of anti-gang and anti-drug TV programs. Viktor Magness in the capacity of a reserve police officer in the Los Angeles received two certificates of achievement for most innovative show nominee, and best new show nominee. The Mayor and the City Council of the City of Los Angeles commended reserve Officer for his seven years of police work and exemplary television productions for the betterment of the City and its residents.
