Rick Treon

Rick Treon is an actor, writer, social media influencer, publishing executive, and recovering journalist. His road to acting and screenwriting included earning a journalism degree from the University of Texas at Austin, working in newspapers for more than a decade, publishing several award-winning novels, and serving as the editorial director of Blue Handle Publishing. Rick was born in Mesa, Arizona, to Richard and Julie Treon (nee Edwards). His father worked construction, so his family moved several times before finally settling in the Texas Panhandle. Rick graduated from West Texas High School in Stinnett, Texas, before attending UT-Austin from 2004-2008. After an award-winning career in newspapers and publishing several award-winning crime fiction novels, Rick began working with Blue Handle Publishing as its editorial director and writing screenplays during and immediately after the coronavirus pandemic. Rick decided to dedicate himself to breaking into the film/television industry in January 2023. By spring of 2023, Rick had been cast in his first acting role.
