Sir Patrick Tristram Bijou (born December 1, 1958) is a British investment banker, fund manager, philanthropist, professional communicator, and Author. Sir Patrick was knighted in 2018 by the authority of the Sovereign Order of The Knights of Malta for his services to banking and charity. He is an award-winning investment banker and highly sought-after Fund Manager. He combines financial expertise with a solid legal disposition and finds time to combine all this with his remarkable skill as a published author and various charitable interests. Sir Patrick is a banking, political, judicial, and publishing professional from the United Kingdom and a resounding example of a successful man. He has exemplified exceptional analytical abilities to resolve international law and provide advisory views on legal and political matters referred to him by authorised United Nations organs and other organisations throughout his career. Early life and education Sir Patrick was born in 1958 to Esther and Eric (late) in Georgetown, Guyana, South America. In 1963, he settled in Britain and studied in London. However, due to the unavailability of MBAs in the UK, he moved to the USA for further education. He completed his bachelor's in Business Studies and Master's in Economics and International Banking (1986) at Camden County College, USA. Besides his regular studies, Sir Patrick earned several degrees from Southampton University, England, and the University of Hertfordshire, England, where he obtained his PhD in Economics and International Banking. In 2012, he submitted his thesis titled, Impact of Quantitative Easing Measures on Interest Rates, Financial Markets, and Economic Activity: A Case Study of USA, to the Department of Finance and Commercial Law of the Haworth College of Business. He currently serves as Governor at the World Peace Academy University (AUGP) and the American University. Career Sir Patrick started his career with Wells Fargo Bank on Wall Street, serving as Personal Banker from 1986 - 1990 and a Fund Manager from 1992 - 2001. Later, he moved on to the trading floor, specialising in the debt markets. Gradually, he became a bond trader and joined Deutsche Bank on Wall Street. He led the Deutsche trade desk and was responsible for developing asset origination and distribution structures. On his return to England, Sir Patrick established himself in the specialist area of debt capital markets, private placements, and structured products. He became responsible for the MTN & Private Placement Desk and dealer function within Lloyds Bank PLC. He was the first trader for Lloyd's treasury to increase the portion of self-led deals significantly from 4% to 32% in 2002.
