Richard Taylor is a qualified teacher, archaeologist and published writer with experience in various archaeological and educational management roles. Richard is the KAS Magazine Editor and leads the KAS Strategy Group. In addition, he is Director of a successful commercial archaeological company and previously worked as Community Archaeologist for Kent County Council with a remit to develop a youth-focused heritage education strategy and broaden heritage volunteer participation. Richard's heritage specialisms include geophysical surveying, particularly magnetometry, and fieldwork practice involving British Prehistoric sites (Neolithic to Bronze Age). He is also interested in historic defences, particularly World War I and World War II. Away from archaeology, he has expertise in developing, leadership and lecturing of Higher Education sports courses and teaching academy scholars at professional football clubs. Richard is co-owner and Director of Darnley Archaeological Services Ltd, which provides archaeological support services throughout the south-east, and a co-presenter of the Channel 4 TV series, the Great British Dig, alongside Hugh Dennis.
