Hanly Joseph

Hanly Joseph was born in Kerala, India, and raised in Commack, New York. He is a film director, associate director, screenwriter, and producer. He is the son of CK Joseph, a civil engineer, and Santhamma Joseph, a housewife, Hanly discovered his passion for filmmaking at the age of 13 when his father gifted the family's first Sony camcorder, igniting his interest in the craft. Even at that tender age, he began creating videos with a cinematic quality. Upon completing high school, Hanly aimed to attend the Film School to pursue his filmmaking passion. However, his parents advised him to prioritize completing a college degree instead of attending film school. Following their guidance, he pursued and completed his education in Computer Science. Several years later, he decided to delve into his filmmaking interest. In 2019, he enrolled at the New York Film Academy and, while studying there, produced his first short film, titled "The Night of Unknowing".
